The Bible is the most useful book ever written. Over the years, many have tried to destroy it, but none have suceeded. Even though a lot of things that exist today were never even dreamt of back then, such as TV, the internet and MP3 players, nevertheless, the advice it contains is just as relevant now as when it was first written.
On this page, I am going to share some of my favourite scriptures. I hope you like them. If not, oh well, never mind. The first is Proverbs 17:17, which reads: A true companion is loving all the time, and is a brother that is born for when there is distress.
Doesn't that just show what type of friend we ought to be? Loving, loyal and doing our best to be there, not just during the good times, but when things are tough too.
Next is Proverbs 14:15. Anyone inexperienced puts faith in every word, but the shrewd one considers his steps. If someone gossips about you, don't waste time and energy trying to disprove it. Don't over-react and make hasty decisions that could cost you friendships. Think calmly and carefully before acting. Is it really that bad?
Finally for now, we have Amos 3:3 Will two walk together unless they have met by appointment? Let's all try that one. There is nothing worse than being lonely, so why not invite someone to spend time with you? And if you receive such an invitation, why not do your upmost (or is it utmost) to accept such an invitation? Loneliness is a killer, let's not be a lazy murderer.
